Community Outreach
Often, a citizen’s first encounter with law enforcement occurs during a challenging moment—when something has gone wrong. They meet officers on one of their worst days. Sheriff Crenshaw wanted to change this narrative by creating opportunities for citizens and officers to interact in safe and enjoyable environments. These positive interactions help foster trust and build a stronger sense of community.
Through generous donations to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Foundation, the Sheriff’s Office offers a variety of events throughout the year aimed at community engagement. Events such as Community Meals, the Annual Halloween Drive-Thru, Oconee Night Out, and more provide opportunities for citizens to connect with law enforcement in a relaxed and friendly setting.
